FORT LUPTON CLINIC

LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER AND VACCINES

Our state-of-the art spay/neuter clinic welcomes cats and dogs (public and rescue) several days per week for sterilization procedures. While we are a low-cost clinic, this does not mean that corners are cut or the surgery differs from other clinics. It simply means that we have chosen to make this life-saving and much needed procedure within reach to the majority of the population, while others have not. Our surgeons and technicians are considered experts in the field of sterilization, which makes the procedure safer and quicker for your animal, as they are under anesthesia for a short amount of time only.

Animals can be sterilized beginning at two (2) months of age or two (2) pounds. Ask ten vets the appropriate age to sterilize a pet and one may get ten different answers. There is an opinion out there that animals should not be sterilized until they are over a year and females have had a litter, there is an opinion that females should not be sterilized while they are in heat, there are many others as well.

In our opinion, and in an ideal world, animals would be sterilized between 4-8 months of age. This is for both males and females. There are advantages to sterilizing animals at an early age.

*If you have a brachycephalic breed (English or French Bulldog, Pug, etc), we recommend going to a full service clinic with a full range of monitoring equipment, since they are at an increased risk of aspirating*
**We will not perform surgery on an animal in our clinic over the age of 7 without accompanying bloodwork.

OUR PRICES

All scheduling is done online. Payment is by credit card only.  We are unable to accept Care Credit. Our appointments fill very quickly so please check below if there is availability for your animal. Spay and neuter registration includes a $50 deposit due to people not showing up, there are no refunds. The $50 deposit goes towards the spay/neuter fee.

We understand that it is frustrating when there are not appointments available, however it is not allowable to misappropriate the weight of your dog for an appointment. Our scheduling is done to optimize appointments and maintain the safety of each animal; misappropriating the weight of your dog creates extra strain for our veterinarians and medical staff. Should you book an appointment under false pretenses, we reserve the right to refuse services or there will be an additional $100.00 charge at the time of check-in.

Please be aware that we are a shelter as well as a clinic and as such, we often have kennel cough, and other things that could potentially spread to your animals. This is not a common occurence but is a possibility. We are happy to treat anything your animal may pick up from visiting our clinic but you must come to us for care. We will not reimburse outside veterinary care.
