Schedule Spay/Neuter in Tribal Lands

WORK ON TRIBAL LANDS
Saving Lives in the Four Corners Region
SPAY & NEUTER
Our clinics are often held in chapter houses, schools, community buildings and vacant spaces, where we set up a "Pop-up Veterinary Clinic" similar to what one would expect from any stationary clinic. We bring in state-of-the-art equipment and leave no stone unturned as we aim to bring only the "gold-star" standard to the services we provide. Our staff is comprised of veterinary professionals who are experienced in the specialty of "high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter". The care received at our pop-up clinics is paramount to what we are doing and we pride ourselves in offering the standard of care parallel or exceeding what would be received in other clinics. We often have one-on-one post-op care for each patient and animals have eye-balls on them until they are fully awake to ensure that recovery goes smooth.

We don't have a set fee, rather we ask for a suggested donation to the program between $10-$15. Typically the donations range from $5-$20 per animal, although some people do more and some people have a situation that doesn't allow them to donate at this time, so we will gladly take care of all animals at no cost. Each animal is sterilized, vaccinated and dewormed with a basic dewormer. At this time cash is the only form of donation taken at the pop-up clinics.

In the first quarter of 2020, our BELOVED mobile clinic, FYDA, will be reconstructed and ready to hit the road. This is an old Airstream trailer gutted and retrofitted as a mobile spay/neuter clinic. The aim is to get FYDA out to some of the really remote locations where finding a building to host a "pop-up" clinic might be challenging. FYDA was first rolled out in 2008, was briefly retired and is now being updated and will be on the road soon.
Need to schedule an appointment?
If you would like to schedule an appointment at one of our clinics please email appt@souldog.org or call or text 303-999-6424. Vaccines are available during the clinics, on a walk-in only basis, for $5 each between 10-3.
Walk-Ins
We are by appointment only, although if you are patient and willing to wait, we can sometimes accommodate walk-ins on the day of the clinic. Please arrive at 8:00am if you don't have an appointment and would like to try to get a walk-in spot.
Interested in bringing a clinic to your community or volunteering with us?
If you would like to bring a clinic to your community or volunteer to join our team, please e-mail volunteer@souldog.org. Our "pop-up" clinics allow us to fix between 75-150 animals over a weekend but require a large, mostly empty building in the community equipped with a bathroom, electricity, good lighting and decent temperature control. Mobile clinics require a place to park our rig with electricity and the ability to plug up for power, a bathroom and a smaller indoor room to house animals in crates before and after surgery. We prefer to hold clinics on Saturday and Sunday, between 8am-7pm, to allow our staff who works during the week to join us. Set up usually happens on Friday evening between 6-8pm.

RESCUE/SURRENDERED ANIMALS
Part of the services we offer on the Tribal Lands in the Four Corners is to take in abandoned, injured, unwanted and stray animals. Our first priority is to try and keep animals in their homes by eliminating the issue that is causing them to be deemed expendable. We can provide spay/neuter and medical help for minor issues such as fleas and ticks and mange, we can provide food (temporarily) and doghouses with straw, and other things that might help keep an animal in its home. If all else fails, we are happy to take in unwanted animals, as space permits, granted they are not aggressive to people or other animals. We will eventually take all animals that we have agreed to take, but sometimes there is a bit of a waiting period, as we are often overwhelmed with requests and space is only available at our facility in Denver as our current animals are adopted. We are not a "no-kill" shelter but every animal has every chance to make it into a home and time and space is never a consideration in determining the outcome for any animal.
See an animal in need?
If you see an abandoned animal, or animal in need of immediate help, please call our shelter right away at 303-857-6789 or send us a Facebook message. We have volunteers and connections all over the Four Corners and can often help an animal in need within hours. Please be as specific as possible with directions and locations, including the nearest mile marker if able. Of course the best option is to pick up the animal(s) in need of help immediately and then contact us and we will send someone for pick up right away.

Each week we work with animal control all over the region to take their healthy, friendly animals before they are euthanized. This has been a great relationship over the years and together we have been able to save thousands. Animals in the shelters take priority as those animals will be put down if we don't take them, thus we bring a transport vehicle each week to pick up these animals in need.

PET FOOD/DOG HOUSE PROGRAM
We have the luxury of having some phenomenal donors and supporters and access to resources in the Denver-area where we are based, which allows us to share our wares with those in need. On our weekly runs to the reservation to pick up animals or hold a spay/neuter clinic, we can also bring necessary supplies for those in need. Access to food, water and shelter is the most basic of care that we can offer to our sacred dogs and cats, and we are happy to help as we can. If you are in need or know of someone with an outside dog without shelter, or struggling to feed their animals, please contact us by calling the shelter at 303-857-6789 or sending us a message on Facebook. We all need a hand sometimes and our donors are more than happy to help people and animals in need.
